JENNIFER K. SIDDENS
I’ve been an artist in one form or another for as long as I can remember. Since becoming a mother, it’s distilled down into two distinct but deeply connected practices: collage and illustration.
My collage work is rooted in freedom - abstract, layered, and often filled with words I need to get out of my head. The colors and tones reflect my enduring love for the rugged, windswept beauty of the Northern Californian coast I call home, making the pieces subdued, ephemeral, like a memory you can’t quite place.
In contrast, my illustration work is born from the small pockets of time I carve out in a full, family-filled life. I focus on middle-grade fiction, with a particular focus on atmospheric - often nighttime - scenes, architectural environments, and emotionally resonant character moments. I bring my traditional art skills into the world of Procreate and provide a writer’s understanding of pacing and narrative arc.
In addition to client work, I also have created digital resources for traditional artists transitioning to digital tools.
I hope this space brings you a small moment of joy and beauty, and a little relief from the general chaos of this modern life.
